Achievement Clubs: Topper Club (28) Commercial Masters (14), Life Masters (12), Presidents Council (10), Life Round Table (10), Life Championship (4), Championship (2)

Four full-time employees, one part-time employee

Agency profile:
I was working as a carpenter and was between jobs when my Farmers agent suggested that I speak with his district manager. When I met with him, I quickly realized he was offering a great opportunity. I never looked anywhere else. I trusted that district manager and here I am today-29 years a Farmers agent.

One year after joining Farmers in 1974, my district manager asked me to write down my goals. With much thought, I projected to go from $22,000 in gross income to $35,000 in the next three years. At the time, I had a net worth of about $25,000 and believed that $35,000 was a lot of money. By the fifth year as an agent, I excceded that income goal by earning double that projection. Over the years, we have grown, added staff, seen market shifts, experienced losses and gains of policies-in-force and income. However through it all, I've said many times that luck and chance brought me to Farmers. This is the best thing that could have ever happened to me. Everything I have I owe to Farmers. It's allowed me an unlimited income potential and a strong identity in a nice community. I'm rewarded by the company for doing what I enjoy. What a deal!

My parents taught me that you have to work for the things you want. This has been something I have lived my life by. Though the road to my success was paved with challenges and hard work, one thing is sure: being an agent for Farmers has been a great opportunity.

Vicki Gilbert
Location: Sierra Vista, Arizona
Years as an agent: 10
Previous occupation: Recruited for an art school, owned a restaurant, real estate sales
Policies-in-force: 4,900
Gross revenue (2002) $325,000
Achievement Clubs: Topper Club (10), Presidents Council (2), Championship (9), Blue Vase, Excaliber

Four full-time staff members

Agency profile:
My career with Farmers started shortly after I moved to Sierra Vista, a beautiful small town in Arizona. My husband knew the district manager who told me about a career as a Farmers agent. As a new career agent, with nearly zero revenue, I purchased an office and opened my agency on February 15, 1994. Through hard work and self-confidence, I drove the business forward. Now my agency currently has four full-time staff people, and I am searching for two more.

I am making more money today than I ever thought possible. In fact, I never knew how much money could be made in the business. In my opinion, there is no better opportunity today than Farmers. I believe that the key to my success has been the multiple opportunities to make money as a Farmers agent through bonuses and incentives linked to providing exceptional services to my customers.

Robin Winters
Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
Years as an agent: 2
Previous occupation: Family business co-owner in the health products field
Policies-in-force: 700
Gross revenue (2003 projected): $125,000
Achievement Clubs: Blue Vase, Silver Star, Life Masters (2), Life Round Table, Topper Club, Championship

One full-time employee

Agency profile:
I looked at several other insurance companies and quickly saw the benefits of joining Farmers. The support and guidance from the company, my district manager and the other agents made it clear that this was were I belonged.

The Farmers agent contract showed me that Farmers cares about the success of its agents. Now that I'm an agent of a little more than two years, I look at the friendships, relationships and the financial security that I've attained for my family, and I could not be happier with my decision to become a Farmers agent.

Cindy Vance
Location: Sussex, Wisconsin
Years as an agent: 10
Previous occupation: Sales representative in the music publishing business
Policies-in-force: 4,100
Gross revenue (2002) $500,000

Two full-time customer service representatives, one part-time contact manager

Agency profile:
I chose Farmers for independence, unlimited income potential and to be my own boss. In my previous position, I was limited in income and had little freedom. I know have made more money than I could have ever imagined, and I have the freedom to set my own schedule.

Since I started as an agent with Farmers, it has expanded the products and services greatly. This has helped my agency to be able to better serve our customers, and allows us to be successful as insurance multi-line and financial service providers.

My agencies mission statement is to serve all customers and potential customers to the best of our ability. This includes servicing, advising and uncovering need. We incorporate annual reviews in order to set us apart from our competition. Our motto is to go out of our way for anyone who needs it.
